We want to let you know that the next MetroWest MH SIG meeting will be NEXT Thursday November 17th from 6-7pm and it will be on Zero Balancing ®
ZB is a body mind manual therapy system that uses gentle touch at the bone level of the body to help re-organize the body’s internal structure and energy to resolve unconscious tension patterns for relief of bodily discomfort and emotional distress. Blocks in the energy field (biofield), which show up in the body as restrictions and tension, are released with gentle pressure along key joints so that life flow can come back into balance. Developed by Dr. Fritz Smith in the early 1970s to bridge the gap between his training in osteopathic medicine and acupuncture, ZB integrates eastern principles of energy flow with western knowledge of body and structure. Zero Balancing is based on a wellness model, helps improve overall health, and is well aligned with the OT domain of practice to positively impact occupational performance.
The presentation will be by Shirley Lynch MS, OT, LMT, Occupational Therapist, Certified Zero Balancing® Practitioner. Shirley has taught in community and professional programs in the Boston area for over 25 years. She has a private practice in manual therapies and movement education in West Concord, MA. In addition, Shirley has worked in rehab and mental health care settings, helping people return to environments and activities that have meaning for their lives.
