Understanding Memory Loss and Behavior Changes are NOT a Normal Part of Aging

This session addresses the unique opportunities and role of occupational therapy with the individual who has urinary incontinence. The role of occupational therapy is central to quality of life with this individual. Assessment, intervention and education will be discussed as well as OT’s role in the inter-professional team.

 Educational Learning Objectives:

By the end of the program, the participant will be able to:

  • Review of Dementia definition
  • Review of incidence and prevalence of Dementia in the next decade
  • Review Dementia and the stages
  • Review of behaviors and approaches to support an individual with Dementia
  • Understand best practice/evidenced based practice in the area of evaluation, intervention and education to establish/restore function
  • Review of behaviors and approaches to support an individual with Dementia
